Rich Minx 2008 New Year’s Resolutions (Sponsored By Tickle Me Elmo)
Happy New Year! At midnight I was jumping up and down to a local band; a very nice and enthusiastic way to bring in the new year.
Right. I know many people consider New Year’s Resolutions to be flimsy, pointless lists that will only result in guilt at the end of the 12 months when none of the said resolutions have been fulfilled, but I am throwing caution to the wind and recording my goals for 2008.
Blogging
I will update Rich Minx at least once a week, probably more. I will write on a range of topics but not wander too far from the central themes – money, blogging, and my celebrity status. I will increase readership without threats or bribery. I will be nice to other bloggers.
Money
I will add to my retirement fund. I will invest wisely in the stock market. I will research buying property. I will work on all my unnecessary clothes buying. I will donate unwanted clothes, and that Tickle Me Elmo toy from 1997 that is gathering dust in my closet, to charity.
Career
I will enjoy my work. My work will involve writing and the web. I will get more writing published online and in print. I will begin to write a book. It won’t be about LA society, legal dramas, time-spanning love stories or Elmo.
Travel
I will travel to at least two overseas destinations in 2008. I’m thinking China and perhaps even a trip to some Sub-antarctic islands (more on that later). I will also see more of my own country (NZ) – wine trail, hiking etc.
Health
I will eat more fish. I will train for long-distance running (at least a 10km run; maybe a half marathon).
Miscellaneous
There are a few things I want to do for the first time: fishing (I know, I really have never been fishing), flying a plane, taking a photography course.
It’s quite a long list and frankly I’d still be happy if some of those things happened in 2009.
What are your resolutions?
