5 Super Tips For Staying In Shape While Blogging
Darren at ProBlogger has been considering ways to stay in shape while blogging. While I personally consider any kind of movement within the home highly dangerous, I can see the merit of staying fit, especially if you tend to remain indoors. You’ll want to look good in any blogging videos you post, as well as live long enough to cash in those valuable Google AdSense checks (I’m anticipating my next one in 2016).
So in these sedentary times, how can we stay taut and trim without even getting up?
1. Use your imagination
According to some wishy-washy study I read about somewhere sometime ago, imagining you are exercising can be as good as the real thing. Try it now – close your eyes, imagine pedalling really fast for 20 mins, and repeat each day. You’ll thank me later.
2. Buy one of those mini step machines
Place it under your desk and step away while working. Configure it so you get a mild electric shock if you slow down.
3. Use the telephone
Stop instant messaging and pick up the receiver. Quite heavy, isn’t it? Move it up and down while talking to someone. The conversation will be awkward, but aren’t most phone conversations?
 4. Tidy your desk
If your desk is anything like mine, it’s covered in trash: 2008 desk calendars given by acquaintances, old photos that need scanning, timetables, bank statements, invoices, a Japanese teddy bear that I really didn’t need, and a sleeping kitten (yes, of course I was going to slip the new kitten into another post). Physically moving these items around is exhausting, but certainly good to increase lung capacity.
5. Time travel
Well, this one is obvious. Travel to another date, do your workout, and schedule your return for the precise time you left. No work missed, no instant messages unattended.
As a blogger, how do you stay in shape?
