Leave My PageRank ALONE!
Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!!!!!
So after over a week of non-blogging and non-blog activity in general, I check my RSS to discover that Google PageRank has changed and some major bloggers have dropped, inexplicably, from a PR7 to a PR4. Godoogle works in mysterious ways.
Meanwhile, RichMinx.com celebrates a PR8, despite erratic blogging times. Wait - my page rank indicator was cached. It’s still PR0. Which reads like ‘PRO’, so it’s not all bad.
Some of the big bloggers out there are being very chin up about the whole thing. There’s a real element of Pollyanna: “Well, I got bitch-slapped by Google, but that’s okay; I understand that the beatings must continue until morale improves.” Nonsense! Come on, BBs, let’s have some Chris Crocker style hysteria.
“And how DARE Google lower my PAGERANK! All you Google people CARE ABOUT is your money and SEARCH engine! All you want is more, more, MORE! Leave my PageRank ALONE right NOW! Please…” *Sob*

Okay, now I expect your next video blog to be a Google page rank rant Chris Crocker style.
October 27th, 2007 at 3:40 amit’ll be ok minx, just don’t go all homocidal and vigilant against the google. i don’t even have a PR
October 27th, 2007 at 4:11 amI know, with the amount that people are persuiting pagerank, I thought/hope we would see some people crying.
Of course, I guess everybody’s in the same boat, so nobody’s too upset.
Of course, I escaped, so my PR4 is worth a lot

October 27th, 2007 at 4:33 amI just got here, but I definitely think you are a pro. (As opposed to being a zero.)
We all want a good page rank, but I think that some people really over react. I mean, Google set up the system to give searchers a good experience, and we all are trying to work or tap into that system for our own benefit.
If Google decides that what I offer or what you offer isn’t what people are after, then they right to downgrade it.
On the other hand, if suspect a planned attempt to defraud us of our Google-given numeric bragging rights, let me know.
I love a good conspiracy theory.
October 27th, 2007 at 7:13 amhey…that’s awesome! I felt bad myself when my PR 6 blog got down to PR 4 but I really don’t care much. At least I’m not lone one
Darren is with me..he he hehe
No but really I feel that Brian Clark (copyblogger) said the right thing that blog as if Google is not there and I’m sure you’ll get more success as most of the successful bloggers don’t rely on Google at all!
October 27th, 2007 at 8:42 amI managed to hang onto my PRO as well. What a relief!

October 27th, 2007 at 9:43 amI must be lucky then, because I think google updated some blogs along the way. My music blog got raised to a PR5, my personal blog and my celebrity blog, tragicomical both got a PR3.
October 27th, 2007 at 11:39 amMinx, toolbar is now showing you as a PR4! Grats!!!!
October 27th, 2007 at 12:05 pmThis would have been great material for a video blog post! I mean it would have really sent the message home and differentiated yourself from the other 1000’s of blogs complaining about their pagerank.
Anyways I totally agree that page rank does not mean much anymore and I think google is just screwing around with the major bloggers in an effort to drive traffic away from the link exchange businesses that are out there. It is hurting their revenue stream so it just makes sense that they would be going after a competitor. It is all about the almighty greenback or whatever currency you are currently using.
October 27th, 2007 at 3:00 pmHey Minx, maybe we spoke to soon. Right now we both have a PR 4. This is the first time I’ve seen PR on my site so I hope it sticks.

October 28th, 2007 at 4:29 amOoh, so I have.
“How DARE you give me a PR4 when I - oh, okay.”
October 28th, 2007 at 12:12 pmMy page rank jumped to a PR 4. I was pretty happy about that. You can never be sure about how Google is going to determine PR in the future though.
October 29th, 2007 at 3:32 amI prefer PRO as well. HA!
November 3rd, 2007 at 5:50 amCongrats on the Perfect 4 ! For some reason my PR went up from 2 to 3 - gawd knows why. But I have discovered that PR seems to have little to do with actual readers.
