Would You Like To Upsize Your Shares?
You know how in Wall Street movies they always show hysterical white-collar men shouting into phones, and at each other, with numbers flashing on giant screens, bells ringing, computers buzzing and coffee flowing?
Well, my investment portfolio has been pretty much the opposite of that recently, mainly because I’ve been living on a tourist visa in one of the world’s most expensive cities. Not one of my most genius financial decisions, but it’s been fun.
Anyway, I got an email the other day from my former local Burger Fuel chain, a Kiwi-owned franchise of gourmet burgers, announcing that they’re going public and, as a VIB (Very Important Burgereater), did I want to get in early before they listed and buy some shares?
Those of you not from New Zealand (which judging by my stats is 99.67% of you) won’t be familiar with Burger Fuel but let me tell you, they sell the best burgers in the whole wide universe. And the good news for you is that by going public they’re raising capital for expansion! They’re already in Australia and doing well there, and the plan is to slowly go global.
It was almost eerie, because just a few days earlier I’d been talking about how New Yorkers would love the burgers. So I said I was interested and they emailed me a long prospectus with all the financial details I needed. They’ve been around for 12 years and have been steadily growing their revenue and franchises around NZ since then. Yes, NZ needs more than one burger outlet!
I’ve just bought my shares online and pre-IPO. That means I’m now a shareholder in Google, some European markets, global emerging markets (which are the new black when it comes to shares). And now… gourmet burgers.
At last I have an awesome excuse to eat more Burger Fuel burgers.
I highly recommend them, and not just because I’m a shareholder now.
But I’m still interested in alternatives… what are the world’s best burgers in your opinion?

Well rumor has it that Cheeburger Cheeburger makes the best burgers. It is a small chain of stores located in the United States, so I am unsure if you have it in your area. it is an old style 50’s type of joint so the quality fo the burgers is like what they used to be. Of course I am too young to remember that time period but I have been in some 50’s joint before and the quality is always good.
Oh and they also make the best onion rings in the world as well.
