I’d Like Bananas With My New Tank, Please
I’ve heard of frivolous purchases, but…
You may have clicked on this ‘top story’ on Digg about the weirdest item to find itself on Amazon.com. I think it looks quite stylish, actually. I was thinking of trading in my Honda and this sexy Badonkadonk Land Cruiser’s a steal at $20K.
What interested me almost as much though is the ‘customers who bought this item…’ list at the bottom. Bananas? That really is the long tail search results again.
Now I have an image in my head of a gung-ho Star Wars geek driving this land cruiser while munching on 4.5 lbs of Chiquita bananas - and some grapes.

I’ve had this on my Amazon wish-list for some time. It always gives people a little smile.

I guess the target market is a little eccentric.
