You may have noticed that I’m interested in these ‘review me for a link to my better-ranking site’ initiatives. I think they’re a very clever, mutually beneficial idea. I reviewed John Chow dot Com yesterday and I’ve reviewed Career Ramblings too. Career Ramblings linked to me promptly but John is a bit backlogged with all the hundreds of reviews he’s getting so that linkback will take longer. I’m not even sure he reads the reviews, actually. Career Ramblings liked my review and I got a good amount of traffic from their link.

Anyway, Courtney Tuttle has a novel take on this linkback business. His PageRank is only 3, but he’s just offered readers a chance to link to his site, guess his income for the month of May, link to the rules, and he’ll give you his entire May paycheck if your guess turns out to be within $1 of the figure! Well, why not. You even get three guesses if you vote before midnight May 18, so come on, Cinderella bloggers. He says he made $293.01 in April and is expecting more this month. Below are his rules.

• Make a guess! Link to my homepage with the text ‘make money online $1.00′, replacing the $1.00 with the amount of your guess. Example: make money online $100.56.

I’d like to say I used a complex algorithm for the guesses, but I didn’t. Or perhaps I looked at my own projected May takings (16c) and multiplied that by Courtney’s page ranking, subtracted my Technorati ranking (5 billionth) and did five somersaults. Either way, worth a shot.
