Giving Money Away
Yesterday I went to a gospel church in Harlem. Going to church is not the norm for me; I was not raised under any religion, so the few times I’ve been I’ve always learned something new.
Yesterday, after an animated sermon on recognisng Satan and lots of singing and clapping (I perfected my “ay-men!”), a basket was passed around for church donations, which I expected. Everyone put some money in, ranging from $1 to $20. But then some people walked up with envelopes containing tithes: 10% of their income for the church. I wonder how many people in the world still do this? Are they as good at saving for themselves as they are at donating for others?
I will never be a tither, but I do believe in donating money for a worthy cause. I have a monthly donation to the SPCA because caring for animals is an important issue for me (being a minx myself, perhaps). It might not save the world, but at least I can imagine a kitty cat munching on some food my money paid for. I am putting money into the kitty, so to speak.
PS. No Limits Ladies talk about the concept of cyberbegging. It’s really a matter of semantics - I prefer to call it fundraising, as in: “I am having a fundraiser! Send me money, please.”

Also my rent is due next week and i dont have enough to pay so im goin to be sued for the rest of my lease icause i cant afford it. I have been working since i was 15 and never have had anything handed to me so i feel that i should have the chance to chase my goals instead of having to live in my hometown where the rest of the people who didnt do what they wanted.
