The words of poor people

According to the books I’ve been reading, poor people’s thinking runs like this:

Rich people are selfish and want all the money for themselves.
I can’t afford it.
Money doesn’t grow on trees.
I’ll check my finances later.
Fingers crossed this transaction goes through…
Buying stocks? May as well just head to the casino if I’m going to gamble my money away.

I recognise myself and people I know in these statements. They’re often based on what we’ve heard other people say all our lives. I’m especially trying to stop saying “I can’t afford it.” It sounds weak. I’m also trying to get over a long-held belief that I don’t deserve to have much money. This belief usually makes me give away/spend money I have to make myself feel more comfortable.
